Today Transport for London (TfL) issued ’National Register of Taxi Licence Revocations & Refusals (NR3) Database’ Notice 11/21 covering the Department for Transport (DfT) ‘Statutory Taxi & Private Hire Licensing Standards’ recommendations on use of the NR3 database. It confirms the regulator “…will provide details of all taxi and private hire driver licence revocation and refusal decisions taken from 1st January 2018…” and that from “…1st September 2021 any subsequent licensing decisions to refuse an application or revoke a licence will be added to the NR3 database on a weekly basis…”. A corresponding privacy notice has also been published, which can found linked to this Notice, regarding the data protection implications of this measure.
