DfT Issues Deadline Letter

Today the Department for Transport (DfT) Minister for Roads, Buses & Places, Baroness Vere, issued a ‘Taxi & PHV Licensing – Statutory Taxi & Private Hire Vehicle Standards‘ letter to Cheltenham Borough Council (CBC).  It follows completion, by CBC and other licensing authorities, of a DfT survey conducted “…to assess the progress in considering and implementing measures set out in the Statutory Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle standards published in July 2020…“.  Based on responses, the DfT expects policy reviews to “…be completed before 31st December 2021, so that any changes to policies can be in place as soon as possible in 2022…”.
