DfT Issues Authorities Letter

Today the Department for Transport (DfT) Director: Local Transport, Stephen Fidler, issues a ‘Taxi & PHV Licensing – Supporting The Sector & School Return‘ letter to licensing authorities.  It highlights a concerns regarding “…shortages of supply…” from placing “…new applications on hold…” and reminds licensing authorities that “…[t]axi and private hire vehicle licensing is a statutory function of local licensing authorities…”. The DfT urges authorities “…to urgently identify solutions…”.
