MoJ Publishes Judicial Review Bill

Today the Ministry of Justice published, and introduced to Parliament, the Judicial Review & Courts Bill.  It proposes to “…equip judges with the tools to give more tailored solutions in judicial review cases. It will also create a better balance between the rights of citizens to challenge executive decisions through judicial review and the need for effective government…”.  These proposals follow a review undertaken by the Independent Review of Administrative Law and a public consultation. A date for a second reading, in the House of Commons, is to be announced in due course.
